I’ Romeo Dobrota from Toronto Canada! There is no doubt that I was born with the passion and talent of producing fine art for the intellectual and emotional enjoyment of the public. My art is born at the intersection of philosophy, astronomy, healing, and psychology. The focus of my studies done in Europe and Canada was on sculpture, painting, mosaic, design, cartoon, and Byzantine art. One who contemplates my artwork will notice surprising materials and techniques as a result of my genuine curiosity and excitement of exploring less travelled roads. As such, my paintings may introduce 3D elements inspired from sculpture or may use bee wax and related techniques to create powerful images and feelings. In the early 1990’s I started to place the human form against the landscape and bring the geometric shapes at the core of my art. Throughout the years I participated in many exhibitions, most significant of which being in 2010 at the Art Gallery of Ontario, praised in Toronto Sun (2010/11/08). In 2019 I exhibited for the International Art Fair Tokyo, and I will participate at Amsterdam, Singapore, Monaco, Middle East Art Collectors Cattalog, Los Angeles, Miami etc. My artwork can be found in Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. Contemporary Art Station: Tell us about how you got started. When did you know you wanted to be an artist?
There is no doubt that I was born with the passion and talent of producing fine art for the intellectual and emotional enjoyment of the public. I wanted to be artist in General School! Thanks to my parents that gave me a strong education and respect!
CAS: What is your process like, from initial idea to the creation of the piece? Do you usually develop the idea for a project before you find the "canvas", or vice versa?
In general I process ideas in my mind ... some times I put on the paper ... collect all papers in the binders, and later when I have no inspiration I "consult" those papers from binder ... But canvas or paper is the final work! I finish the work in the same day or later (after 1 day, 1 week, ... one months ... or more! Do not forget I studied the sculpture too! CAS: What do you love most about your creative process?

I studied sculpture, design, at the School of Art in Europe where I worked in clay, marble, wood, painting, I studied Byzantine art too.

CAS: What role does art and the artist play in the broader social conversation today?
Today the art has a lot of ramifications, styles, method, technics, materials and we have multiples possibilities to create the art! Mass media and exhibitions, solve the conversation's problems!
CAS: Name a few of your favourite artists and influences.
Pollock, Kandinsky, Richter, Klimt, ... etc. but I want to be ORIGINAL. I’m fascinated by Universe … Galaxy … Space … Time … Infinite … Light … Soul … History …
CAS: What is the best advice you received as an artist?
School, work, work, work ... exhibitions ... work, work, work ... Exhibition ... is kind of loop ...

CAS: When did you discover your voice as an artist?
My voice as an artist have been discover In General school ... I have the best parents ... My father was kind of "Encyclopedia"... My mom has been ours Angels, ours God. They gave us a strong education! We are 3 brothers and one sister!
CAS: What advice would you give to emerging artists trying to find their own?
All the artists have to be their own, unique, ... do not "copy-paste" other artist! The more important for the artist is show to the public his creation! Exhibition is very important you can evaluate, appreciate your work!
