IEVA KAMINSKAITE | UK
Lithuanian artist who lives and works in London, United Kingdom. Relations with art started in the early years of primary school when I was attending art school. It definitely was a realazation that art is going to be a big part of my life. Later on I chose to be more practical and graduated as Interior Designer. Unfortunately, it didn’t fullfil expectations and I felt like something is missing. Then just after graduation I decided to start a brand new paragraph and moved abroad. And now I call London home for more than 8 years. While working (at non related art job) I was studying some short courses at Central Saint Martins - University of the Art London. After that I was studying at Shaw Academy - Graphic Design and Photography.
In 2014 I created my own website/portfolio Queen Eagle and was working on some projects of mentioned subjects. Again, I didn’t feel that taking orders for graphic design projects is opening magical doors of creativity. In the mean time I was travelling a lot, most of the time alone and took as many pictures as I could. In that way I took journeys to get to know myself and do what I love, also, on solo trips the camera worked as a shield in many ways. On one such trip I found an article in magazine about going back, in person or in memory, to find time when you felt happiest and what made you very happy. That way I aknowledged I loved painting. Got back to it in 2017 and in April 2018 I had my first solo exhibition - all the way back to my hometown. In September 2018 I was apart of a contemporary painting exhibition in London at The Brick Lane Gallery with a completely new series Y.O.C - Yellow Oxygen Cylinder. December 2018 participated at ITSLIQUID Venice Art Show with my photography work. Being part of Tokyo Shibuya Contemporary Art Station Exhibition is definetely a great peak and a blessing
