Shaun Wane
I draw inspiration from various sources, including everyday experiences and the works of contemporary artists. As one mentor stated, "All art comes from other art." My paintings are categorised as abstract figurative, with limited emphasis on realism.
When creating still-life works, I consider the connection between my roles as an industrial painter and that of a fine artist. I begin by assembling the subjects and sketching them from different angles, ultimately selecting one sketch as the basis for my painting. I often work on multiple pieces simultaneously, and a painting is considered complete only when I stop wanting to pick up my paintbrush.
