My work is about light, color, darkness and shadows. I am drawn into doing what I do by a subconscious pull. I listen to that call and whatever emerges is the result of a completed journey. Rather than focusing on a well-defined subject, I prefer to venture into the unknown in the way that abstract work allows while still exercising a critical control over the rightness and wrongness of my marks and gestures.
My colors come from nature’s pallet but my approach is more oriental and meditative. I memorise what I see and digest what I feel, allowing everything to transform itself through my mind.
My most formative years were spent in Asia and my work is the product of both Eastern and European cultures - the mix having happened long ago and deep inside my subconscious.
