Lucy Mattos, argentine sculptress, has developed a recognized and prestigious national and international artistic career.
Her artworks range from monumental sculpture to artistic jewelry, transcending in the figure of Woman from a symbolic and strong site at the same time.
In her sculptures there is an original force that is perceived in each work: the essence of Mother Earth. Interest in social issues and concern for the environment are also reflected in her artworks.
Among other materials Lucy Mattos uses bronze, white metals, wood, stone, marble and, in the eighties, she created the polyester – intralight technique, which allows light to come from inside the art works, breaking with the paradigm of traditional sculpture that must be externally illuminated.
First Argentine sculpress to create her own museum: www.museolucymattos.com . Inaugurated in 2012, the space located in San Isidro, Buenos Aires, exhibits her works permanently.
Other artworks of her are found around the world in museums and private collections in Brazil, Mexico, Panama, the United States, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Israel, Japan and South Korea.
