In this series of abstract paintings “Peaceful Reflections” I draws inspiration from the element of water and its organic depth of color.  Color and light transcend into layers of reflections, contemplating life and our desire for tranquility. We need to preserve our natural environments to create a more peaceful world.

5. How has your art evolved over the years?

My art began as a more traditional study of the body and landscapes using oil paint. I have continued to paint both subject matter but in a variety of styles and mediums. My paintings have transformed into a more expressive view of each. My focus has been more on the emotion of the piece incorporating mixed mediums and material into my painting.

6. What does art mean to you?

My paintings are a personal journey. They are a reflection of emotions and the times in which we live. Sometimes that is by painting the bold female figure and the desire for more equality and strength. Other times I paint the water in search for peace and tranquility in a turbulent world.

7. What’s the most valuable piece of art to you?

The most valuable piece of art should tell a story, or emotion. When one looks at it is should show depth of feeling. The composition should be stable but not recognizable making the entire piece something one can look at over and over again searching for meaning and pleasure.

8. What’s next for you in the future?

I plan to paint and continue to grow as an artist continually exploring new techniques. I will pursue shows on a global scale to find ways my art can  make it into a home or place to be seen and appreciated on a daily basis. To bring something pleasing to the world because art is a constant and has the power to move and change perspectives.
